Yes, ginger has anti-inflammatory effects and some mild aspirin like qualities. If your back is hurting, take a 1-2 inch (2.5-5cm) piece of ginger root and thinly slice it into a quart (just under 1litre) of boiling water. Simmer with a cover on for 30 minutes on low heat. Let cool, strain and sweeten with honey and drink it.
